SAVED BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH:
Hi sweet friends! Today I would like to share a message with you that the Lord has taught me and is continuing to teach me. Let’s start off with this verse:
“For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is God’s gift – not from works, so that no one can boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God has prepared ahead of time for us to do.” – Ephesians 2:8-10 ♡
Ephesians 2:8-10 is such a powerful verse, and for the longest time I did not understand what it really meant and as I continued to grow with the Lord, He taught me and I feel like He is continuing to teach me. Friends, you are saved by grace through faith, not from your works. I used to think that I was saved from my works and that every time if I did not preform well enough for God, He would be mad at me (which is the biggest lie ever).
SALVATION IS A GIFT
Salvation is a gift from God (as you see in the verse above) given to us freely by Him. Our good works for God are a fruit of the gift of salvation but they aren’t the reason why we are saved. Our good works are God’s gift to us which He has prepared ahead of time for us to do (Ephesians 2:10 ♡). God does all the work! (I feel that often times we forget that). We are His workmanship created for good works. We follow God because we love Him and what He has done for us. We do good works for God (like serving others, spreading the gospel, etc.) because we love Him. We can not earn our salvation, it is God’s gift to us and nothing can change that.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. They are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” – Romans 3:23-24 ♡
IT’S NOT ABOUT US BUT ABOUT JESUS
We are saved by the grace of God! It’s not about what we do, but about what Jesus did for us. God’s grace on us is not dependent on our performance. Jesus was obedient to the point of death, even to death on a cross (Philippians 2:8 ♡) for our sins so we would not perish in this world but have eternal life with our Heavenly Father (read John 3:16 ♡). It’s all about what He did for us and His love. We can not comprehend His love, but that’s the beauty of it.
Knowing that we are saved by His grace, does not mean we should take advantage of it. It does not mean we should get super lazy either and not do these beautiful works for God. All glory goes to Him and we do our beautiful works because of His love and our love for Him.
SAVED BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH
We are saved by grace through faith! It’s not about what we have done or what we do or how much we do, but about what Jesus did for us. God’s grace is a gift and it takes faith to receive it. Always remember (and this is for myself too 🙂 ) that we are saved because of what Christ did for us on the cross. All glory goes to Him always.
