EMBRACING THE LONELY SEASON

EMBRACING A SEASON WHERE IT’S JUST YOU & GOD:

Hey friends! I’m so excited for today’s blog post which is about embracing the “lonely” season and basically this is a season where it is just you and God and no one else. I have been in this season for a while now and I know it can be hard, so I wanted to talk a little bit about my experience, embracing this season, and trusting God in everything, especially in the unknown.

THE “LONELY” SEASON IS A BEAUTIFUL SEASON

I put air quotes around lonely because you are never alone. We might hear that saying all the time but it is the truth. God said in His word He will never leave us or abandon us – “… for He himself has said I will never leave you or abandon you.” – Hebrews 13:5 ♡ and His word is the truth. During this season where it is just you and God, it can be so easy to feel alone, I know I have felt alone during this season but I remind myself that God is right besides me. He is right besides you and He is not silent to your pain. One thing I want us to realize is that the lonely season is such a beautiful season because it is just you and God. There are no distractions, which is amazing because we get to take this time and spend it with our Heavenly Father. We can be put in this season for many reasons – God might want us to build a closer bond with Him, God might want us to learn how to rely on Him only, and many more reasons that God only knows. Ask yourself why am I in this season, what does God want me to learn? For me, I was always caught up in everyone around me, I was so distracted and was being pulled away from God. So, I felt that He placed me in this season to focus on Him and trust in Him alone.

WHAT TO DO IN THE “LONELY” SEASON

The number thing we should do in the “lonely” season is to seek God first. We need to take advantage of this season because there are no distractions. I know it can be easy to get in our thoughts of feeling alone or getting worried but we should remind ourselves of God’s promise, that He is with us always especially in the darkest times. Psalm 23:4 says “Even when I go through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for you are with me; your rod and staff – they comfort me.” Really use this time to spend time with God because of your love for Him and wanting to build that bond with Him. You can spend time with God by praying/talking to Him, reading His word, and praising His beautiful name. You can also journal! For me, I journal prayers and bible verses. You can also go do hobbies that you like to do, for me that would be blogging, gymnastics, baking, etc. You have this time to spend time with God and to really get to know yourself ; who God has created you to be.

TRUSTING GOD IN THIS SEASON

We should trust God in every season of our lives, and sometimes it’s harder than others. We need to remember who our God is, we need to trust God because His promise is strong and He never fails. So no matter what we are facing and don’t know what’s coming next we need to know that God’s got us safe in His sovereign hands. (Read Proverbs 3:5 ♡) We need to continue to pray and cast all our fears onto Him because He cares about us (1 Peter 5:6-7 ♡). We should trust God because He will meet all our needs (Philippians 4:19 ♡). We should trust God because He will provide for us (Matthew 6:33 ♡). We should trust God because He has a purpose for us (Romans 8:28 ♡). We should trust God most importantly because of His love that never fails and endures forever.

EMBRACING THIS SEASON

I know it can be difficult but embrace this season! You are where you need to be and it’s so awesome to have a season where it is just you and God. We may not understand but we don’t need to, we just need to put our trust in God. His ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:9 ♡). I love you guys but God loves you way more.
