WHY BEING SINGLE IS A GIFT FROM THE LORD:

I know the feeling. I know the feeling of seeing everyone around you in a relationship and there’s you single as a pringle haha :)). Then you start to think why am I not in a relationship yet, why have I never had a significant other but all my friends do, is there something wrong with me?, etc. – You start to get all those thoughts in your head. None of those thoughts are true. There is nothing wrong with you if you’ve never been in a relationship or if you aren’t currently in one. You don’t need to fill that void with a boyfriend or girlfriend. You don’t need someone to feel loved. You are already loved by the Most High God and by the King Jesus Christ. Once you have Him, you have all you need. I feel the world twists relationships and idolizes it, then people feel the need or pressure to be in a relationship and that’s what causes heartbreaks. But let me tell you that being single is a gift from God and same as being in a relationship.. but with the right person God has sent. So, feel free to read this because from my experience, I’m going to tell you why being single is a gift.

YOU GET TO SPEND TIME WITH GOD

Being single is a gift from God because you get to spend time with the Lord and grow your relationship with Him without there being a person yet. Think about it: how do you expect to be in a relationship with someone, if you can’t keep your relationship with God? It’s so important to seek Him first before ALL things. Being single is an opportunity to use our time to spend it with our Lord and Savior. He wants to spend time with you!! Being single, doesn’t mean being lonely. You are never alone because God is by your side. He cares for you and loves you so much! So, continue to build your relationship with Him during this season and in all the seasons of your life.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.” – Matthew 6:33 ♡

YOU GET TO KNOW YOUR IDENTITY THROUGH CHRIST

During a season of being single while spending your time with the Lord, will help you to know your identity and worth through Him, which is such a gift. It makes me sad that a lot of people in this world seek their worth from this world, people, and especially relationships. A relationship with a guy or girl will never satisfy you if you put your all and all in that person. If you put your identity in that person, you will be left hurt. It is so much better to put your identity in Christ because He died for you because He loves you. God’s love is unbelievable and so amazing. God will never leave. It’s an amazing gift to be able to get to know your identity in the one who created you first, instead of a person. The one who created you fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14 ♡). Keep spending time with Him and seek your worth in Him always.

“Be satisfied with what you have for he himself has said, I will never leave you or abandon you.” – Hebrews 13:5 ♡

GOD IS PROTECTING YOU

You might not think of it this way, but being in a season of singleness is a gift because God is protecting you. He sees ALL things and knows ALL things and is above ALL things. God knows if you aren’t ready for a relationship or it isn’t your time yet. So, He is helping you by protecting you from getting in a relationship so you don’t get heartbroken, so he can protect you for that special person in the future, and for many other reasons. Most of the times, God does allow us to go through difficult situations so we can learn from it, grow, and rely on Him. Trust me, God knows the desires of your heart and all the things you need before you ask Him. He is protecting you because He loves you, He cares, and He knows you more than you know yourself. He’s about to blow your mind away and give you something way better than you’ve ever imagined. God is preparing you for big things! All good comes to those who love the Lord. Continue to put your trust in Him, even if you don’t understand.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; in all your ways know him and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6 ♡

“We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28 ♡

Coming from a girl who hasn’t dated anyone yet (me!) I understand and I know it can be hard. But as you can tell from above, being single is an amazing gift from God. I used to dread and hate being single before I built my relationship with God and struggled a lot with it that I would go searching. And when I went searching, it caused me to be hurt. Please don’t search around for a guy or girl because you feel lonely, I don’t want you to get emotionally attached, it’s not fun. Search for God! Seek Him! Once I built my relationship with Him, I surrendered this struggle to Him and He has helped me! Yea, I still desire to be in a relationship, but I love being single because this is my time with Him. It’s my time with God. Even if I do get in a relationship, I will continue to seek Him. I learned throughout my relationship with God that my worth comes from Him, not a boy, not anyone. Never settle or lower your standards because you want to feel loved or you feel lonely. Fill that void with God and He will help you. Be in a relationship for the right reason: to honor God. He wants the best for us. I encourage you to keep praying and surrender your cares onto to Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:6-7 ♡) and He will help you! Love you guys ♡
